In this section of the curriculum we cover the CauseWise methodology – How to find both the Technical and Root Causes for a technical problem situation. This is one of the two main modules to find causes “first time every time” and develop solutions on how to remove these causes in such a way that they do not reoccur again.
This module has seven different videos following sequentially. The following is an idea of how to approach this module successfully:
Lecture 1.1 Video One: CauseWise Overview – this video is the “heart of the CauseWise process and needs to be well learned and understood. Refer to the case study provided in the support materials and work through.
Lecture 2.1 Video Two: Incident Statement – This is most probably the most important video, because this technique is the difference between success and failure. Please mak an effort to understand the “fault drill”.
Lecture 3.1 Video Three: Incident Detail – This video follows on from the previous one and part of the basis skills.
Lecture 4.1 Video Four: Possible Causes & Verification – Again this video is the 3rd part in the “refinement” series
Lecture 5.1 Video Five: Thinking on Your Feet – This is an independent video, but if you are planning to teach the KandF RAPID Incident Restoration workshop then this video could prove critical to you.
Lectures 6.1 & 7.1 Videos Six & Seven: These vidoes demonstrate how the CauseWise process would work for both Infrastructure and Application problems
